The 2009 tri-Pride Community Awards recognize the accomplishments of individuals and groups within the communities of the Waterloo Region and area. While there are a number of community awards to recognize individuals and groups, there are no such programs that recognize the work of people specifically in the LGBTQ community.

We asked people at tri-Pride 2009 what pride meant to them. Here's what they had to say.

Pride Week 2009: June 19th to June 28th
