2009 Youth Line Community Youth Awards Call for Nominations: Deadline Monday, April 9th, 2009
Do you know a LGBTQ young person who does some amazing community work in Ontario?
Shouldn't they be recognized?
The 11th Annual Youth Line Community Youth Awards, presented by the Lesbian Gay Bi Trans Youth Line, is an opportunity to promote youth community engagement and achievements by recognizing the outstanding contributions by lesbian, gay, bi, trans and queer (LGBTQ) youth and LGBTQ youth services throughout the province. The nomination deadline is Monday, April 9, 2009 with the awards presented at a ceremony early June in Toronto.
Nominators are strongly encouraged to nominate youth from across Ontario who they feel are making a real difference in their communities. People can also nominate themselves.
Eligibility
The activities described in the nomination form must have been made while the nominee was a youth (26 years old and under) and in the last 24 months. Include historical information if relevant.
The nominee must either be a resident of Ontario OR must have contributed to the LGBTQ communities in Ontario. Self-nominations are accepted.
Nomination Requirements
All nominations must include all required information as indicated on the Nomination Form.

The Lesbian Gay Bi Trans Youth Line is a toll free Ontario-wide peer support line for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, transsexual, 2-spirited, queer and questioning young people.
KYAC Youth Awards
The Kitchener Youth Action Council (KYAC) is hosting their 12th Annual KYAC Youth Awards on Wednesday May 6th 2009 7-8:30 p.m.
They want you to nominate a young person (ages 14-24) in your community that is making a positive contribution.
Friday April 3rd 2009 is the deadline for nominations.
Those that are nominated will be invited to participate in the Youth Awards ceremony – every youth that is nominated is recognized for the great things they are doing.
So act now. Spread the word. Take the time show appreciation for a young person. Take the time to show our community that young people are making a positive difference in our region each and every day.
