The Oxford Elementary School Dictionary defines normal as: usual or ordinary. Usual: such as happens often or all the time; expected. Ordinary: normal or usual; not special.

Socks and sandals is that normal? Well according to these definitions socks and sandals aren't. It’s not usual, it doesn't happen often, so you could say socks and sandals are weird or wrong. Personally I do too… but as a kid I wore sock with my sandals all the time. Shh! That’s our secret.

Cream cheese on waffles is totally normal right? Definitions say no. It doesn't happen often so it must be special. I love cream cheese on my waffle, I know a lot of you are thinking gross, ew, discussing… The rest are say I tried it and it's not that bad or it was good and others agree with it being gross. When I asked people if they ever heard of cream cheese on waffles they said, "yes." Guess it’s not that unusual.

Two girls holding hands normal? NO WAY!!! That's out of the ordinary! Right? Many people say yes and think it's wrong or gross. But those to girls holding hands think it's OKAY! Completely normal and so does the rest of the LGBTQ community, along with their allies.

Just because not everyone has seen, tried, heard or agreed with something doesn't make it unmoral, well maybe to that one person. Really normal is what you make it. Like the Tylenol commercial: "Get back to normal, what ever that may be."
